The world’s largest travel company reported 8.9 million bookings in March for the winter-summer period as the number of tourists rose to pre-pandemic levels.
“Two trends are obvious: bookings become considerably premium and are made in a considerably shorter time,” Joussen wrote to staff.
He said this is good for turnover, margins and profitability.
TUI said earlier this year that summer holiday bookings were approaching pre-Covid-19 levels, with a steady recovery in the UK since restrictions and testing rules were lifted.
