According to the first information, at the technical level, the third generation Duster will be a completely new car, which will have nothing to do with the current model. It will use Renault’s CMF-B technical platform, which is why it was easy to disguise as a Captur. In this context, it must be said that, currently, Duster remains the only model marketed by Dacia that continues to use the B0+ platform, which is quite old.
The design of the new Duster, which is known inside Renault under the code P1310, is 99% finalized, it shows motor.es. The model is based on the Dacia Bigster Concept, and on an aesthetic level Duster 3 can be defined as the “younger brother” of the future Dacia Bigster, a model which, if everything goes according to plan, will be launched in 2025.
And in terms of mechanics, Duster 3 will come with substantial changes. First of all, there will be no diesel options in the engine range of the new Duster. Those interested in getting their hands on the new generation Romanian SUV will have petrol, LPG and hybrid engines available. For gasoline, there will most likely be a 1.3 TCe 130 HP engine. A step up will be the 150 HP 1.3 TCe engine with 12-volt mild hybrid technology (MHEV).
