Sales of light commercial vehicles and new cars in Russia fell sharply

According to the quoted source, the market leader was the Lada brand (owned by Avtovaz), which sold 6,012 vehicles in May, down 84% from the similar period of 2021, when it registered 38,284 units.

Renault delivered 1,789 vehicles last month, down 86% from the same period in 2021, when it sold 12,482 units, informs Agerpres.

In the top 25 best-selling car models on the Russian market, Duster is in eighth place in May with 561 vehicles sold (compared to 3,784 units in the same period in 2021), Logan is in 16th place with 361 vehicles sold (compared to 2,905 units in the same period in 2021), and Sandero is on the 19th place, with 315 vehicles sold (compared to 2,257 units in the similar period in 2021).

The Duster, Logan and Sandero models sold on the Russian market are manufactured by Renault.

In April, the Association of European Businesses forecast a decline of at least 50% in new car sales in Russia in 2022 due to supply problems.
