Newly baked potatoes with ham
1 kg of new potatoes
200 g ham, kaizer or bacon
50 ml of sunflower oil
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon sweet or hot paprika
salt to taste
pepper to taste
Wash the potatoes well in a few waters to remove all the soil. If they are small, you leave them whole, if they are bigger you cut them in half. Boil them in boiling salted water over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, until they are half done. Drain them and leave them to cool.
Cut the ham into cubes and brown it in a non-stick pan until it is crispy, then take it out on paper towels. Pour the oil over the fat in the pan, add the potatoes, sprinkle with the granulated garlic, paprika and fry over medium heat until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Add the ham, season with salt and pepper, stir and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Serve the potatoes immediately with sour cream or old sheep’s cheese and sprinkle with your favorite greens.
