Large Chinese drone maker suspended in Russia and Ukraine after being accused of providing information to Russians

“DJI is internally re-evaluating compliance in different jurisdictions. Pending the current review, DJI will temporarily suspend all commercial activities in Russia and Ukraine, “the Chinese company said in a statement.

A DJI spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday that the decision was not made “to make a statement about any country, but to state the principles” of the company.

“DJI detests any use of our drones in order to cause harm, and we are temporarily suspending sales in these countries to ensure that no one uses our drones in combat,” the DJI spokesman said.

The Ukrainian army and citizens have accused DJI of providing information to Russia, but the company denies the accusation.

The company captured some online images suggesting that the Russian military was using its products, but could not confirm this and had no control over the use of its products, a DJI spokesman said in March.
