“I love Twitter. It’s the closest thing to a “global consciousness,” Dorsey says on Twitter. “As a company, Twitter remains the only child for me and the biggest regret. It was owned by Wall Street and the online advertising model. Taking it from Wall Street seems like the right thing to do. “
Dorsey, known for her strong personality and unabashed opinion, retired from Twitter in November 2021.
Dorsey says Elon Musk is the only solution for Twitter, even though, he says, “I don’t think anyone should own or run Twitter.” He is convinced that Musk will make Twitter a platform that people trust the most.
He thanked both Musk and current CEO Parag Agrawal for taking Twitter “out of the impossible.”
The idea and service is all that matters to me, and I will do whatever it takes to protect both. Twitter as a company has always been my sole issue and my biggest regret. It has been owned by Wall Street and the ad model. Taking it back from Wall Street is the correct first step.
