Croatian regions are expected to reach the average level of development of European Union countries by 2030. This opinion was expressed on Monday during a trip to Lichko-Sensky County (an administrative-territorial unit of the northwestern part of the country) by Republican Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic.

“Thanks to the EU’s regional development and cohesion policy, the Croatian regions will reach the average level of development of the European Community countries by 2030,” Plenkovic said.

At the same time, the head of the Croatian government drew attention to the development dynamics of the region he visited.

“In the process of decentralization, this region has become stronger in terms of functionality in the last three years, its fiscal potential has increased by 78%,” said Plenkovic. “Cooperation between the region and the government is also effective and strong, as evidenced in particular by the fact that during the pandemic crisis, 5,000 jobs were saved by 1,144 employers with funds from the state budget. ”.
